Liverpool can reportedly sign Johan Bakayoko for €25 million, with Jurgen Klopp interested in the 20-year-old Belgian winger.

According to Fichajes, Liverpool have learnt the asking price to sign PSV Eindhoven star Johan Bakayoko. The Merseysiders will have to pay at least €25 million to sign the 20-year-old Belgian winger, although any move may have to wait until the summer due to Jurgen Klopp’s immediate priorities.

Johan Bakayoko has become PSV Eindhoven’s next highly-rated star and has taken his chances to shine in the team after some high-profile attackers left. For instance, he truly started becoming an important player since the departure of Cody Gakpo last January. Following the departure of Xavi Simons in the summer, there is more emphasis on the 20-year-old Belgian winger.

He has one goal and six assists to show for his displays in all competitions, and the PSV hierarchy believe he will go on to improve those numbers as the season progresses. Liverpool had already enquired about him during the summer as they might have envisaged a potential exit for Mohamed Salah.

With the Egyptian still at the club and performing at his best, there are chances he could still leave next summer to join Al-Ittihad. However, Jurgen Klopp likes the 20-year-old Belgian winger and wants to make him a part of his future squad.

Now, Liverpool have learnt PSV’s asking price for Bakayoko, with the 20-year-old winger likely to cost at least €25 million. This looks like another astute signing if the Reds make it through, and has similarities to the value paid by the club for Gakpo last January.

Some reports stated Liverpool were ready to sign Bakayoko in January. But Klopp’s priorities for the next window have changed in recent weeks. Central defenders like Piero Hincapie have emerged on their radar. But now they might cool their interest in him to focus on bringing in another midfielder.

Liverpool are front-runners to sign Andre from Fluminense. And if that move happens, any transfer for Bakayoko will be pushed until the summer. The 20-year-old Belgian winger has no shortage of options, although Liverpool will come across as an exciting destination.

There are other Premier League sides keen on Bakayoko, who, in fact, will provide him with regular game time. At Liverpool, he will have to bide his time to break into the starting lineup, as Klopp has an array of top attacking talents under his disposal.

Hence, any move will depend on how the 20-year-old Belgian winger perceives the move and whether he’s in a hurry to leave PSV in January. Liverpool could cement their interest for next summer, which means Bakayoko will have to wait a bit for this move to happen.
