Manchester City will happily cough up €30 million to secure the services of 17-year-old Argentine prodigy Claudio Echeverri, a target for Real Madrid.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Manchester City and Real Madrid are interested in Claudio Echeverri. The Argentine prodigy has a release clause worth €25 million, which Los Blancos will unlikely trigger. But the Premier League champions are ready to fork out €30 million to land the River Plate sensation.

Claudio Echeverri is one of several South American sensations to have emerged on the radar of high-profile clubs in Europe. Brazil has seen the rise of talents like Endrick, Vitor Roque and Estevao Willian. As for Argentina, Gianluca Prestianni, Federico Redondo, and Echeverri have captured the attention of European bigwigs.

The 17-year-old has already made his first-team debut for River Plate, turning out four times thus far for them. Meanwhile, the Argentine prodigy recently made his market for his nation’s Under-17 team, scoring a hat-trick against Brazil. And Echeverri’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of many big-name clubs.

Recent reports have claimed that Manchester City and Real Madrid are keen on securing Echeverri’s services. But the youngster dreams of joining Barcelona when he moves to Europe. Meanwhile, the player’s contract has a release clause worth €25 million, which Real Madrid will unlikely trigger.

But Manchester City will happily stump up a sum higher than the release clause to prise him away from River Plate. The report has suggested that the Premier League champions are willing to pay €30 million to land the 17-year-old Argentine prodigy. And his qualities can make him the long-term successor to Kevin De Bruyne.

As for Real Madrid, they are renowned for accentuating the growth of highly-rated prospects. Vinicius Junior, Federico Valverde, Rodrygo Goes, and others have become pivotal figures for Los Blancos. But Real Madrid’s reluctance to trigger Echeverri’s release clause might leave them lagging in the race.

Meanwhile, Manchester City might also have an uphill task, even if they offer €30 million to River Plate. With the youngster keen on joining Barcelona, the Blaugrana will invariably be his first choice. But if the reigning La Liga champions do not present a bid, Manchester City might be in the pole position.
