Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a major blow in their pursuit of 22-year-old Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez.

According to a report by Calciomercato, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on having Santiago Gimenez in their ranks. The Premier League clubs want to push for his services in the winter but the player doesn’t want to switch clubs in January.

Gimenez came through the ranks at CD Cruz Azul and made it to their first team in the winter of 2020. After a few successful years at the Mexican club, he joined Feyenoord in the summer of 2022. In his very first season with the Dutch club, he found the back of the net on 28 occasions and even contributed with three assists.

Post a successful debut season, there was a lot of interest in his services. Clubs wanted to sign him during the summer but a move didn’t materialise. The 22-year-old has carried his form from the last season into the ongoing campaign. He already has 15 goals and three assists in just 15 matches.

His excellent start to the 2023-24 season has ensured that the interest in his services remains intact. The 22-year-old Mexican international has a contract with the Dutch club until the summer of 2027, despite that clubs are looking to prise him away in the winter.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in his services. They have been keeping a close eye on the former Cruz Azul striker for a while now. The Blues have struggled for goals at certain stages in the ongoing season and they feel the need for a new number nine. Chelsea like the profile of Gimenez and he could be a great fit for the club.

Mikel Arteta already has two quality strikers in his ranks but he is still on the lookout for a new striker. The Spanish manager wants to sign an out-and-out number nine who can guarantee goals. The Mexican international is on their radar. Signing him will add depth to Arteta’s attack and since he is only 22, he can help them for years to come.

Even Tottenham Hotspur are keen on having him in their ranks. Spurs haven’t yet replaced Harry Kane who joined Bayern Munich in the summer and they are looking to sign a striker in January. They feel Gimenez could be an ideal fit for the London club and he could be the leader of their attack for years to come.
