Liverpool have been linked with a move for PSG talisman Kylian Mbappe, also a target for Chelsea and Manchester United.

Kylian Mbappe will be out of contract at the end of the season, and he could leave PSG as a free agent. A report from Football Insider claims that the Reds might not be able to afford the French international because of their limited resources.

Mbappe is a target for Chelsea and Manchester United as well, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. The 24-year-old will be a free agent in the summer, but he is likely to demand massive wages.

It is hardly a surprise that Liverpool will not be able to afford him or his wages. The Reds operate within a strict wage structure, and they are unlikely to abandon the system for one player.

There is no doubt that the 24-year-old is a world-class player, and he is a future superstar. He could transform Liverpool going forward and help them with major titles in the coming seasons. However, he is simply out of their affordability bracket, and it remains to be seen where he ends up.

Chelsea and Manchester United are keeping tabs on his situation as well, and it will be interesting to see if they decide to try their luck in the coming months. Paris Saint-Germain are unlikely to let him leave in January. So, any move would have to wait until the summer window.

Chelsea desperately need attacking reinforcements, and Mbappe has emerged as a top target. The 24-year-old is capable of playing anywhere across the front three, and he will add pace, flair and goals to the Chelsea attack. Similarly, Manchester United need more quality from the wide areas.

Jadon Sancho and Antony have been largely underwhelming, and Mbappe would be a massive upgrade on them. The 2018 World Cup winner could be excited about the prospect of playing in the Premier League next season and he wants to join the club capable of winning major titles. Any club hoping to sign him will have to secure UEFA Champions League qualification, and they will need to offer him a lucrative contract as well.
