Serie A giants Inter Milan will reportedly demand €50 million to part ways with Denzel Dumfries, a target for Chelsea and Manchester United.

According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Denzel Dumfries is popular in the transfer market. Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in signing the 27-year-old Inter Milan full-backs. Meanwhile, the Serie A giants want €50 million to part ways with their prized asset next year.

Denzel Dumfries has established himself as one of the best full-backs in Serie A since joining Inter Milan from PSV Eindhoven two years ago. The Dutchman was already one of the most highly sought-after right-backs in the world when he arrived at San Siro. And his stock has risen further in the last two years.

The 27-year-old has started the 2023/24 season well, chipping in with two goals and four assists in 13 appearances thus far. But Dumfries’s exploits might not bode well for Inter Milan in the long run. The player remains popular in the market, with several high-profile clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United, interested in signing him.

Dumfries has been on Chelsea’s radar for a long time. They also considered pursuing him before securing Malo Gusto’s services earlier this year. So, with the former Lyon full-back arriving at Stamford Bridge, it is unclear why the Blues are still interested in signing the Dutch international.

But with Reece James attracting interest from Real Madrid, it behoves the Premier League heavyweights to keep their options open. Dumfries is thus a viable target for Chelsea. But the West London club will face stiff competition from Manchester United for the Inter Milan full-back. Meanwhile, the Serie A giants will demand €50 million to part ways with him.

Manchester United’s interest in Dumfries is understandable, considering neither Diogo Dalot nor Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been convincing enough to become the undisputed first-choice right-back. So, the 27-year-old is an option worth considering for Manchester United.

Chelsea and Manchester United have the means to afford his price tag of €50 million. But it still seems surprising that Inter Milan will cash in on the Dutchman for such a sum. So, it will be interesting to see if if the former PSV Eindhoven full-back arrives in England next year.
