West Ham United technical director Tim Steidten has added Adam Hlozek to his list of potential striker targets ahead of January.

According to 90 Min, West Ham are keeping tabs on Adam Hlozek as they continue to search for a new striker ahead of the January window. Technical director Tim Steidten wants to bolster the centre-forward position and bring someone to add to the goals.

David Moyes would want to continue with his good start to the campaign on all fronts. Despite their defeat at the weekend to Aston Villa, the Hammers are very much in the mix for European places, while they have been excellent in the Europa League.

The club, with the help of technical director Tim Steidten, have added well to their squad, boosted by the sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal. One area they currently lack in is the centre-forward position, with the Hammers making some efforts in the summer to bring a new striker.

One of their previous targets, Hugo Ekitike, was a wanted man for Moyes, and West Ham retains an interest ahead of January. There are others like AZ Alkmaar’s prolific star, Vangelis Pavlidis, and now they have added Adam Hlozek to their shortlist.

Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy also features on their list, but signing him will prove challenging for how important he is to the Bundesliga side. They might switch their attention towards Bayer Leverkusen’s Hlozek, who’s not having the best of seasons under Xabi Alonso.

Hlozek has one goal to his name in seven substitute appearances spanning 46 minutes of league action. Leverkusen are top of the Bundesliga standings, and Alonso may only look to make a few changes, especially when things are looking good.

The report states West Ham may ponder on a loan move to test the forward at their club and may include an option of some sort. Whether Leverkusen agree to those terms remains the question, but it’s certainly an idea that could boost the 21-year-old Bundesliga ace’s value.

He does have a long-term deal with the club, and currently, his value doesn’t represent too much for Leverkusen. Whether Hlozek is the right option for West Ham also raises some questions, considering Steidten wants someone who could add plenty of goals, which the 21-year-old Bundesliga ace hasn’t shown with his game so far.

Moyes must keep placing his trust in Michail Antonio to score plenty of goals. His deputy, Danny Ings, is yet to open his account this campaign, but the manager would hope they improve with their form in the coming months.
