Crystal Palace and West Ham United are reportedly keen on signing Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy from Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart.

A report from 90min has claimed that West Ham United and Crystal Palace will battle it out for the signature of Serhou Guirassy. The 27-year-old has been in spectacular form for the Bundesliga club this season scoring 14 goals in 8 matches. He will look to continue his impressive run of form and it is no surprise that the Premier League clubs are keen on him.

VfB Stuttgart are hoping to hold on to their prized asset in January, and it remains to be seen whether West Ham United come forward with a lucrative proposal to tempt them when the transfer window reopens midway through the season. The Hammers could certainly use a reliable goalscorer like him, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.

West Ham signed Mohammed Kudus from Ajax this past summer, and the 22-year-old has proven to be an exciting addition. However, the Ghana international is more suited to the role of a second striker. So, West Ham should look to invest in a quality number nine.

Guirassy certainly has the ability to do well in the Premier League, and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for West Ham. The Hammers are competing in the UEFA Europa League this season, and they will look to win the competition. They managed to win the UEFA Europa Conference League last season.

A signing like Guirassy could certainly make a huge difference in the final third, and he could help them finish the season strongly. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace need to add more quality and cutting edge in the final third as well.

The Eagles will probably be a less appealing option for the striker and he will want to join a club with European football.  Furthermore, West Ham have more resources compared to Crystal Palace as well.

Meanwhile, clubs like Brentford and Bournemouth are keen on the striker as well and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. Recent reports have also linked Guirassy with Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur. He is unlikely to be a cheap acquisition in January, and his admirers will have to pay over the odds in order to convince the German club to sell him.
