Serie A giants AC Milan will reportedly look to sign Arda Guler, who joined Real Madrid this past summer, in a deal worth €20 million.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Arda Guler is the subject of interest from AC Milan. The Serie A giants are combing the market for an attacking midfielder after losing Brahim Diaz. And they are ready to shell out €20 million to prise the Turkish international away from Real Madrid.
Arda Guler spent most of his formative years thus far in his homeland, turning out for Genclerbirligi SK and Fenerbahce in his youth career. The 18-year-old graduated from Fenerbahce’s academy and was a regular for the club’s first team in the 2022/23 season. But his stint in Turkey ended this past summer, with Real Madrid securing his services.
Los Blancos shelled out around €20 million to prise Guler away from Fenerbahce. But the Turkish international has not made his mark thus far for Real Madrid, as he has been on the sidelines due to a knee injury. However, Guler’s stock remains high, with widespread reports claiming the Merengues envision a bright future for him.
But after having to wait to make his Real Madrid bow, the youngster can benefit from a loan move away from the Santiago Bernabeu. The teenage sensation does not have a shortage of suitors, with recent reports linking him with Real Betis and Sevilla. However, another club will look to land him in a permanent move.
The report claims that AC Milan will aim to secure Guler’s services in a permanent move in 2024. The Serie A giants are ready to fork out €20 million to land the 18-year-old summer signing. But Florentino Perez has yet to decide what he will do if he receives an approach from the Rossoneri.
Real Madrid should ideally not cash in on Guler without giving him a fair chance to establish a foothold in the first-team squad. So, a loan move will be much better than a permanent transfer. Meanwhile, AC Milan’s interest is understandable, considering they parted ways with Brahim Diaz and Charles De Ketelaere this past summer.
So, Guler is a viable target for the Serie A giants, who will look to bolster their attack with the 18-year-old Turkish international. But it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid will entertain any offer for a permanent transfer.
