Sevilla will reportedly look to sign 18-year-old Turkish prodigy Arda Guler on loan from fellow La Liga club Real Madrid this summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Arda Guler is the subject of interest from Sevilla. The Andalusian giants are keen on bolstering their squad in the January transfer window after a slow start to the 2023/24 season. And the 18-year-old Real Madrid prodigy is a short-term option over a loan move.

Arda Guler spent most of his formative years in his homeland and rose to prominence during his stint with Fenerbahce. The Turkish whizkid only joined the Yellow Canaries in 2019 but took little time to soar in stature. He was a regular for them last season, which earned him interest from several high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid.

Los Blancos beat several other top clubs to the signature of the 18-year-old prodigy in July. But Guler has yet to turn out for Real Madrid after picking up a knee injury during the pre-season campaign. However, he is closing in on his return after doing well during his rehabilitation.

The teenage sensation should make his Real Madrid debut later this month. But he will unlikely be a regular for Los Blancos for most of the 2023/24 season. So, it behoves the youngster to seek a loan move in the second half of the campaign. And Sevilla might look to provide him with such an opportunity.

The Andalusian giants have slowly started the 2023/24 La Liga campaign after losing the first three games. And they are rooted to the bottom of the table as the only team yet to garner a point this term. So, Sevilla will look to delve into the market for a midfielder in the January transfer window.

Guler has thus emerged as a viable target for Sevilla, who might offer him regular game time in the second half of the 2023/24 season. Meanwhile, Real Madrid might take up the opportunity to send the 18-year-old prodigy out on loan.

Considering Guler might not get many starting opportunities for most of the 2023/24 campaign after recovering from his injury, he can continue his progress with a solid loan spell away from Real Madrid. And it will be interesting to see if Sevilla will secure his services on loan in the coming months.
