Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United could show an interest in signing PSG winger Ousmane Dembele if he leaves in January.

According to Fichajes, Ousmane Dembele’s future has come under the scanner at PSG, who could let him leave in January. A trio of Premier League sides, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Chelsea, are following the situation up close.

Barcelona paid a hefty fee to Borussia Dortmund for Ousmane Dembele. They saw the talent of the player but failed to account for his disruptive fitness record. The French winger missed a chunk of his games in Catalonia, with the Spanish giants then forced to sell him at a loss during the summer.

PSG triggered a €50 million clause in Dembele’s contract and reunited him with French teammate Kylian Mbappe. The Spanish manager even suggested in the media that fans should pay to watch the winger play, but so far, his performances have underwhelmed.

Dembele has two assists to show for his cause and went missing in PSG’s latest Champions League loss against Newcastle United. The latter are reportedly keen to sign the winger if he decides to leave the French side in the upcoming January window.

The 26-year-old World Cup finalist’s performances have begged many to question his long-term future in Paris. There are strong suggestions about PSG cutting their ties with the winger, with a move to the Premier League an option for Dembele.

Arsenal had links to Dembele, among other sides, as per a recent report. One may not think Mikel Arteta will throw big money on the inconsistent winger. The 26-year-old World Cup finalist has the class to play for the Gunners, but his injury record will stall any potential move to north London.

Arteta remains keen to add a wide attacker, with Pedro Neto the favourite to sign for the club in that position. Chelsea are also mentioned as a suitor for Dembele, but their recently adopted policy to sign players under the age of 25 may scupper any move.

It’s not to say Chelsea are not interested in Dembele. In fact, they had wanted the 26-year-old World Cup finalist earlier, but now their priorities might have changed. A recent report linked the Blues with Brighton’s Simon Adringa, which may seem closer to their transfer policy.

Finally, Newcastle United are the last club in the report to have a realistic shot at signing Dembele. The Magpies are keen on an experienced attacker, with links to Leroy Sane for next summer, but the 26-year-old World Cup finalist also features there.

The Magpies showed an interest during the summer, but once PSG came into the equation, Dembele had his mindset. If he does become available in January, Newcastle, among other sides, will certainly push towards signing him, but the financials here are also very important in such a deal.
