A trio of London clubs are monitoring the situation of Ousmane Dembele, with rumours suggesting PSG could cash in during January.

According to Daily Mirror, Arsenal, Tottenham, and West Ham United are among the teams monitoring the situation of Ousmane Dembele. Rumours in the media suggest PSG could cash in on the World Cup winner if he continues with his dwindling form since moving from Barcelona.

For being considered one of the best-attacking talents on the continent, Ousmane Dembele should have had a better career to date. Instead, after making a big-money switch from Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona as a replacement for Neymar, he saw his progress stall due to persistent injury problems.

He only managed 185 games in all competitions for the Catalans during his six-and-a-half-year stay. PSG took advantage of a reported release clause in his contract and agreed on a deal to bring him to Paris. The remarkable move let Dembele join France’s teammates, Kylian Mbappe and Randal Kolo Muani.

The mouthwatering prospect of the trio alongside Portuguese striker Goncalo Ramos makes this PSG strikeforce one of the formidable ones on the continent. Yet, from the media’s point of view, Dembele has not proven his worth despite five games under his belt.

The World Cup winner has not scored or assisted yet since completing his £50 million move. And rumours circulating in the media are already suggesting PSG could look for a way out. Luis Enrique seems satisfied with the winger’s performances from current standings and even told fans they should pay to watch Dembele play.

Enrique said, “If I were a supporter of a team, I would pay to see Ousmane Dembele. He’s a totally different player. He is unpredictable, overflows, [and] works magic. It’s true that he may have missed things and didn’t score his first goal, but the day that happens, I’m sure he’ll score a lot later. This happens to all attackers. It’s wonderful for a coach to have a player of this quality and level available.”

Yet, the media has now linked Dembele with a move to one of the top North London sides. As per the report, Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham United are monitoring the World Cup winner’s situation and could make a move in January if he becomes available.

The Gunners are still in the market for a wide attacker to add cover for Bulayo Saka. Dembele would seem like a fantastic addition for his part. But he won’t settle for a second-fiddle role behind either Saka or Gabriel Martinelli.

Similarly, he may not fancy joining West Ham United, who have been showing signs of progress. Dembele wants to continue at the highest levels, so he wants to keep playing in the Champions League.

Spurs did sign Brennan Johnson on deadline day to fill a void in their attacking areas left by the departure of Harry Kane. But again, Tottenham could indeed become an option for Dembele if the conditions are right. And if they manage to make it into the Champions League next season, the £50 million World Cup winner might consider if he has to leave PSG.

As things stand, PSG may not want to sell Dembele so soon after his arrival. He is adapting to a new league and surroundings. After an injury-ravaged period in Barcelona, he could steadily look to get back to his best and give some productive years to the Parisian club.
