Tottenham Hotspur have agreed on a deal to sign Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest.

The North London outfit have now confirmed the transfer on their official website and the 22-year-old has signed a long-term contract with the club until 2029.

Johnson has been linked with a move to Tottenham for weeks now and Spurs will be delighted to get the deal done. The 22-year-old is highly rated in English football and he has a bright future ahead of him. He could develop into a key player for Tottenham in the coming seasons.

Spurs need to bring in attacking reinforcement after the departure of Harry Kane. They are yet to replace the 30-year-old England international with a specialist striker, but the decision to invest in multiple attackers could prove to be a wise one.

They have already replaced his creativity with the addition of James Maddison and the arrival of Johnson will add flair and goals to the side as well.

The 22-year-old had an impressive campaign with Nottingham Forest last year and he scored 10 goals across all competitions. He is likely to improve with coaching and experience in the coming seasons. He could develop into a key player for Tottenham with the right guidance.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has a proven track record of nurturing talented players and he showed that during his time at Celtic.

The Australian could be the ideal manager to guide the 22-year-old and it remains to be seen whether he can get the best out of his new signing. Johnson is versatile enough to operate as a central attacking midfielder as well as a winger. He could prove to be an asset for Tottenham this season.

The 22-year-old is well-settled in the Premier League and he should be able to make an immediate impact at the North London club. Johnson will hope to establish himself as a key player for Postecoglou in the coming weeks

Meanwhile, Spurs will be hoping to get back into the Champions League at the end of the season and someone like Johnson could be quite influential for them in the final third.

  1. no striker says:

Sorry but at 22, you are no longer a kid in football. by this age you have even shown you are world class, or you are just another average player. We have just signed another average player after selling a world class striker.
Spurs have NO NATURAL STRIKER to play in the middle of the field now. Our entire front line is full of wingers/inside forwards.
