The Manchester clubs are ready to compete for Brighton star Kaoru Mitoma, but the Seagulls will make things difficult for suitors.
According to Fichajes, Manchester United and Manchester City could compete for the signing of Kaoru Mitoma in January. The Japanese winger has been sensational since becoming one of Brighton’s important players, but the Seagulls will make things tough for suitors.
Brighton have developed a reputation as a great negotiators in the English market owing to their brilliant pieces of business over the last few years. Under Roberto De Zerbi, the Seagulls have found another gear on the pitch, which has seen their current players valued even more than before.
For instance, they rejected offers close to £70 million for Moises Caicedo last January but ended up selling the midfielder for £115 million to Chelsea in the summer. Under the Italian, some players have achieved prominence in the squad, with Kaoru Mitoma one of those.
The 26-year-old Premier League winger has even started the season in solid form and already has the attention of top clubs within the division. Brighton are confident of renewing his contract amid information on a chasing pack of clubs.

They have considered a few names, but if Mitoma becomes a possibility, the Red Devils ought to try.
Hence, signing someone with the profile of Mitoma would make more sense for Manchester United than their rivals. However, there are doubts over their financial resources, considering they somewhat struggled by their standards during the summer.
