Real Madrid might pursue 24-year-old OGC Nice striker Terem Moffi in the 2024 summer transfer window if they fail to sign Kylian Mbappe.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Terem Moffi is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The Merengues are scouring the market for alternatives to Kylian Mbappe. While the Paris Saint-Germain talisman is their priority target, there are concerns that he might sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

Terem Moffi has established himself as one of the best strikers in Ligue 1 since joining OGC NIce. The Nigerian international has been in France for three years while being in the shadow of Victor Osimhen on the international stage. But the move to Nice in the January transfer window has brought the best out of him.

The 24-year-old ended the 2022/23 season strongly, compelling Nice to sign him in a permanent deal this summer. And Moffi has been top-notch in the new campaign, scoring thrice and providing two assists in five outings thus far. Meanwhile, the player’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of Real Madrid.

Real Madrid will prioritise signing Kylian Mbappe in a Bosman move in the 2024 summer transfer window. But recent reports have brought some concerns for Los Blancos, with Paris Saint-Germain in overdrive to retain his services. And the Ligue 1 champions will likely offer the Frenchman a lucrative contract to keep him at Parc des Princes.

So, it behoves Real Madrid to scour the market for alternatives to Mbappe heading into the 2024 summer transfer window. Several strikers, including Erling Haaland, have thus emerged on Real Madrid’s radar. But Haaland might not be an easy acquisition either, making Moffi a viable target for Los Blancos.

The 24-year-old is coming into his own, having contributed to five goals in as many appearances this season. And while he might not be on Mbappe’s level, it is worth noting that Endrick will arrive in Madrid next year. So, Real Madrid should have enough quality in the final third with the two strikers apart from Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes.
