Real Madrid will prioritise a move for 24-year-old French international Kylian Mbappe heading into the summer transfer window.
Carlos Carpio has told Remontada Blanca that Kylian Mbappe is a priority target for Real Madrid. But instead of pursuing the 24-year-old goal machine this year, they will launch the offensive for him in the 2024 summer transfer window. The deputy director of MARCA has ruled out a 2023 deal for the PSG talisman.
Kylian Mbappe has established himself as arguably the best player in the world since joining Paris Saint-Germain from AS Monaco. The French international has been a hot property in the market since his breakthrough campaign at Stade Louis II. And his stock has skyrocketed following the move to Parc des Princes.
The 24-year-old has become a goal machine at PSG, often finding the back of the net. Mbappe’s stock has also risen on the international stage, where he guided France to the 2018 FIFA World Cup. And he almost singlehandedly helped Les Bleus defend the title in Qatar a few months ago, only for Argentina to beat them on penalties.
Meanwhile, the Frenchman has enjoyed an excellent 2022/23 season, amassing 38 goals and nine assists in 40 appearances thus far. But Mbappe’s future at PSG is uncertain amid Les Parisiens’ repeated failures in the UEFA Champions League. And Real Madrid will attempt to sign him in 2024.
The 24-year-old goal machine is reportedly keen on joining Real Madrid less than 12 months after shockingly snubbing them to renew terms with PSG. And while the Merengues remain interested in him, they will not launch the offensive for him this year. Instead, Real Madrid will prioritise a 2024 move for the player, according to Carlos Carpio.
Florentino Perez is keen on beefing up the Real Madrid squad after a sub-par season that will end with only Copa del Rey. And while Los Blancos will likely prepare a lucrative package for Mbappe, he will not arrive at the Bernabeu this year.

So the 24-year-old goal machine will likely spend another year at PSG before moving to Real Madrid. Carpio has also suggested that the French champions were never going to accept a bid for their prized asset this year anyway. So securing Mbappe’s services in 2024, when he will have one year left on his deal, makes sense.
