French World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe is keen on joining Real Madrid and has informed them about his desire.
According to a report by AS via Fichajes, Kylian Mbappe is keen on joining Real Madrid. The 24-year-old French international has been linked with Los Blancos for quite a few years. However, they have not managed to strike a deal with Paris Saint-Germain for his services.
Mbappe is one of the hottest properties in world football. The former AS Monaco player has been on Real Madrid’s radar for a while now, and Los Blancos have tried to sign him on multiple occasions. But they have failed to land the French star at the club.
Carlo Ancelotti’s team pushed for the signatures of the 24-year-old with a bid of over €200 million, but it was rejected by PSG. He was all set to join the team in white for free last summer. However, he decided to pen a deal with the French club at the very last moment.
It came as a shock for Real Madrid. However, they have not lost hope of signing the French international. Mbappe has featured in 250 matches for PSG and has scored 202 goals along with 96 assists.
As far as the ongoing season is concerned, the 24-year-old has 31 goals and 8 assists in his 33 outings. It has been another great season for the French World Cup winner. His new contract with PSG runs until the summer of 2024.
The French club want him to extend his contract beyond 2024 or he might be sold in the summer. As per reports, sources close to the player have informed Madrid that the player is not interested in extending his contract.
And, he is likely to run down his contract at the French club before joining Real Madrid as a free agent after the next season. Mbappe has already informed the club about his desire of joining them in the near future.
Florentino Perez has tried signing the former Monaco forward on multiple occasions but he has failed to land his primary transfer target. However, the latest reports suggest that he could finally have the 24-year-old at Santiago Bernabéu in the summer of 2024 that too as a free agent.
