Liverpool admire Jarrod Bowen and could consider him a future replacement for Mohamed Salah, potentially next summer.

According to The Athletic, Jarrod Bowen could become an option for Liverpool if Mohamed Salah leaves in the next window. The 26-year-old West Ham star has seen his stature as a left-footed right winger grow in recent years, making him one of the candidates to replace the Egyptian at Anfield.

The Saudi window might have slammed shut, but the Mohamed Salah case remains open. For now, there’s no other club than Liverpool relieved at that fact, but they will brace for future offers from the Middle East for their talismanic winger.

The Saudis failed with a big offer and may have pondered another one before their window closed. Al Ittihad, in particular, could return with another mammoth proposal in January or next summer. Only this time Liverpool might loosen their stance and consider selling the Egyptian.

In that case, their next task must focus on replacing the Egyptian with a quality player. There aren’t many left-footed right-wingers in the footballing world as good as Salah. An alternative thought about finding a superstar replacement has crossed Liverpool, with Kylian Mbappe a target or even Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid.

Those names could elevate their overall attacking output, but they do not fit in on the profile side. Liverpool already have Luis Diaz and Coady Gakpo on the left side, which could push Liverpool to sign a like-for-like Salah replacement.

Bukayo Saka’s name has come up previously, and recently, some have recommended Liverpool spend that Salah money on the 22-year-old. Had it been 2020, it may still have materialised, but in the current climate, Arsenal are unlikely to entertain any offers, especially from domestic rivals.

In the days surrounding speculation around Salah, Jarrod Bowen emerged as a target for Liverpool. The Merseysiders reportedly admire the 26-year-old West Ham star and could view him as the ideal replacement for Salah.

He is left-footed, and players on the right flank, but Salah’s output dwarfs the 26-year-old West Ham star’s. However, with the right coaching and system, Bowen can reproduce those numbers that Jurgen Klopp desires, and contractually, he seems gettable.

Bowen’s deal expires in 2025, and West Ham will try to negotiate a new contract for the 26-year-old. If Liverpool makes their interest known, the England international might lean towards joining the Merseysiders rather than extending his stay at the London Stadium.

The Bowen links could continue to evolve once Salah’s departure gets closer. West Ham would still end up demanding a significant fee for the winger, but Liverpool have proved themselves as hard negotiators and able to close a deal as per their preference in the past.
