Chelsea will reportedly look to sign 16-year-old English prodigy Fin Cartwright from Middlesbrough before the summer transfer window closes.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Fin Cartwright is the subject of interest from Chelsea. The 16-year-old is the second-youngest debutant in Middlesbrough’s rich history. And the Blues want to prise the young midfield sensation away from the North Yorkshire club before the summer transfer window shuts down.

Fin Cartwright has spent his formative years thus far in his homeland. The young English whizkid is a product of the Middlesbrough youth division, a club that has produced many well-known graduates. And after rising through the ranks at the North Yorkshire outfit, he has made his first-team debut this season.

The 16-year-old appeared off the bench in the League Cup win over Huddersfield Town earlier this month, managing four minutes as a substitute. Cartwright’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs in the country. And Chelsea will look to secure his services in the coming days.

The Blues have been active in the market for a plethora of players since Todd Boehly and his consortium took over.
