Fulham will reportedly look to sell 25-year-old centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo to fellow London club Tottenham instead of AS Monaco.

According to a report by French outlet RMC Sport, Tosin Adarabioyo remains the subject of interest from Tottenham. And the North London giants now have a boost in his chase, with Fulham preferring to sell the 25-year-old to them. The player is also a target for Ligue 1 club AS Monaco in the ongoing transfer window.

Tosin Adarabioyo has found a stable footing in his career since joining Fulham from Manchester City. The former England youth international was once widely regarded as one of the best young centre-backs in the country. But he could not establish a foothold in the first-team squad at the Etihad.

Adarabioyo’s first season with Fulham did not end well, with the West London club suffering relegation to the EFL Championship. But the 25-year-old was an instrumental figure in their rise back to the Premier League. And he enjoyed an impressive 2022/23 season after Fulham returned to the top flight.

But the former Manchester City prospect has entered the final year of his contract with Fulham. And the West London club will likely part ways with him this summer, with several clubs emerging as suitors, including Tottenham Hotspur. But recent reports have claimed that he wants to join AS Monaco.

At Tottenham, Micky van de Ven has been the summer signing to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s central defensive options. But amid uncertainties surrounding Eric Dier, Ben Davies, Japhet Tanganga, and Davinson Sanchez, it behoves the North London club to invest in another centre-back.

They are thus keen on signing the 25-year-old. But the player wants to move to AS Monaco. That has put a spanner in the works for the North London club. But Fulham might have handed a reprieve to Tottenham, with the report claiming the Cottagers prefer to sell him to Tottenham.

Fulham’s stance is surprising, considering Premier League clubs often prefer not to deal with another top-flight outfit. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can capitalise on Fulham’s openness to sell the 25-year-old defender.
