Paris Saint-Germain are closing in on signing Bradley Barcola, who has been on the radar of Chelsea and Manchester City of late.
According to The Sun, Chelsea and Manchester City have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Bradley Barcola as Paris Saint-German look set to acquire his services in a £50 million deal. The English clubs have been linked with the Lyon sensation over the past few weeks. But they are way behind in the race for his signatures.
Barcola has been at Lyon since his childhood days. He has come up the ranks at the club and was promoted to their first team last winter. Since being promoted to the first team, the 20-year-old winger has put in some impressive shifts, and he is on the radar of multiple top clubs from across Europe.
The French youth international bagged 17 goal contributions last season. And, despite having three years left on his contract at Lyon, the 20-year-old could be on his way out. The French club are ready to negotiate his departure if they get the right price.
Meanwhile, he has been on the radar of Chelsea and Manchester City. Both English clubs are looking to bolster their wings but for different reasons. The Blues failed to land Michael Olise at the club as he ended up renewing his contract with Crystal Palace.
As a result, the West London club are now going after Barcola. Manchester City, on the other hand, are looking to add him as they look for more depth in wide areas. They believe he could be a great long-term option are have been monitoring him.
While both English clubs are keen on having him in their ranks, they are well behind PSG in the race for his signatures. The French giants are trying to lay the foundation for life with Lionel Messi and Neymar. With the senior pros no longer at the club, they want to have depth as well as quality out wide.
As a result, PSG are going all out for the 20-year-old. They are closing in on a deal with Lyon that will be worth £50 million. Lyon are ready to sell to the Ligue 1 giants. And given the size of the fee, Chelsea and Manchester City might not stand a chance.
