Paris Saint-Germain are ready to part ways with 31-year-old forward Neymar amid his links with Chelsea and Barcelona.

According to RMC Sport, the future of Paris Saint-Germain star forward Neymar is still uncertain. While the 2023/24 season is all set to get underway, the Brazilian international could still part ways with the French club. Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in the 31-year-old, who wants to rejoin Barcelona.

The 21-year-old joined Paris Saint-Germain back in 2017 from Barcelona for a record fee of over €200 million. PSG triggered his release clause and offered him a lucrative contract to make the move to France.

While Neymar has done his bit over the years, he has failed to deliver the UEFA Champions League title and has often been injured. The French club are now looking to move on from the Brazil international. They are now focused on signing young players with potential.

PSG have already parted ways with Lionel Messi, while the future of Kylian Mbappe is uncertain. The French international is expected to be offloaded in the ongoing transfer window along with the Brazilian forward.

Neymar was injured towards the last part of the 2022/23 season, and he could only feature in a total of 29 matches last season. He was on the pitch for just over 2,300 minutes and ended up contributing towards 35 goals. He found the back of the not on 18 occasions and assisted his teammates 17 times.

While his numbers are impressive and he has two more years left on his deal, PSG are ready to let him leave. Even the player is looking for a new challenge elsewhere. The 31-year-old wants to return to Barcelona. But a move to the Catalan giants looks very unlikely, even though he has offered himself to his former club.

Barcelona cannot afford to him at this point in time, and he does not have a place in Xavi’s plans. Meanwhile, Chelsea have been interested in the Brazilian international for a while now. The Blues want to land him at the club and were in talks with PSG back in the day. They also remain in contact with the Brazilian’s entourage.

The player’s camp are still in talks with the Blues as Neymar seeks a new challenge. While both PSG and Neymar are ready to part ways, a move in the ongoing transfer won’t be that easy because of his massive wages and transfer fee.
