Neymar has reportedly offered himself to Barcelona, with his stint at Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain likely to end this summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Neymar has offered himself to Barcelona over a move in the summer transfer window. The Brazilian international faces an uncertain future at Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain. And he is willing to take a pay cut to rejoin the Catalan club.

Neymar has been one of the best players in the world since moving to Europe from his boyhood club Santos. The 31-year-old has completed a decade in Europe, with six of those years coming at Paris Saint-Germain. But his best phase came during a four-year spell with Barcelona, where he also won the treble.

The Brazilian international joined PSG in a world-record deal worth €222 million. But a spate of injuries has hampered Neymar’s stint with Les Parisiens. But the player was phenomenal in the season gone by despite similar issues plaguing him. And he contributed to 35 goals, finding the back of the net 18 times while providing 17 assists.

But Neymar’s spell at Parc des Princes will likely end in the summer transfer window. And with Lionel Messi already departing, PSG will look to cash in on the former Barcelona attacker to start afresh. The player has now offered his services to the Blaugrana, and he is ready to take a pay cut.

Barcelona can do with a player of Neymar’s ability, considering he is still a bonafide game-changer. And with Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati facing an uncertain future at Spotify Camp Nou, the 31-year-old can be a top-class addition to the Catalan club’s squad.

Reports last month suggested the Catalan giants were considering re-signing the Brazilian international. But the operation to bring the player back to Camp Nou will be complicated for Barcelona. They will need to sell before making new signings. And even though Neymar is ready to take a pay cut, his reduced salary will give Barcelona some problems.

A move to the Premier League is likelier, with Chelsea recently making the first move to secure Neymar’s services. And it will be interesting to see if the Blues beat the competition to land the 31-year-old. For now, returning to Barcelona is seemingly improbable.
