Serie A champions Napoli have reportedly offered €30 million to sign 21-year-old Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga, a target for Real Madrid and Liverpool.

According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Gabri Veiga is the subject of interest from Napoli. And the Serie A champions have tabled a bid worth €30 million to sign the 21-year-old. The Celta Vigo midfielder is also a target for Real Madrid and Liverpool this summer.

Gabri Veiga has become the talk of the town in his homeland following his breakthrough season as a professional footballer. The Spaniard made his first-team debut a couple of years ago. But it was not until the 2022/23 campaign that he finally established a foothold at the Balaidos.

The 21-year-old amassed 11 goals and four assists in 36 La Liga outings. And Veiga’s contribution eventually helped Celta Vigo avoid relegation from the top flight last season. So it is hardly surprising that several high-profile clubs are keen on signing him. And Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Napoli are among the player’s prospective suitors.

Real Madrid’s continued interest in Veiga is surprising, considering they have signed two midfielders this summer. And while Arda Guler might miss most of the upcoming season, the Merengues still do not need another midfield reinforcement. Nonetheless, the Spanish midfielder remains on Real Madrid’s radar.

Meanwhile, recent reports have claimed that Liverpool submitted a bid to secure Veiga’s services. And after parting ways with nearly half a dozen midfielders this summer, the Reds need more midfield arrivals. But Liverpool and Real Madrid have seemingly fallen behind Napoli in the race to sign the 21-year-old.

The Serie A champions are in the market for a midfielder amid uncertainties surrounding Piotr Zielinski’s future. And with the Polish international reportedly closing in on moving to Saudi Arabia, Napoli will need a replacement. Veiga has thus emerged as a viable target. And the Italian giants have submitted a bid worth €30 million to sign him.

With the Serie A champions making their first move, it will be interesting to see if a deal sees the light of day. The reported bid worth €30 million is lower than Veiga’s release clause of €40 million. And if the offer does not convince Celta Vigo, Real Madrid and Liverpool might have the chance to usurp Napoli.
