Chelsea are looking to push harder for the services of the 24-year-old Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams.

According to The Athletic, Chelsea are keen on having Tyler Adams in their ranks before the end of the ongoing transfer window. They are keen on bolstering their midfield and have identified the 24-year-old as a potential target.

The Blues are set to ramp up their efforts to land the American international who is on the radar of Aston Villa. Chelsea’s focus throughout the ongoing transfer window has been on offloading players but now they have shifted their focus towards new signings.

The London club have significantly cut down the size of their squad but in doing so they have lost some quality. They have let go of some of their best midfielder in Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic. Their departure means, Chelsea now need to sign new midfielders.

The Blues’ priority throughout the summer has been on signing Moises Caicedo from Brighton. They have been in negotiations with the Seagulls for quite a few weeks now but haven’t reached an agreement yet. As many as four bids have been rejected by Brighton. But, Chelsea are still pushing for his signatures and are ready to put forward a fresh bid.

While their priority is still to land the 21-year-old at the club, they recently identified Leeds United’s Tyler Adams as a potential target. Chelsea have now decided to push hard for the American international who has a £20 million relegation clause in his contract.

Leeds were relegated from the Premier League last season. They struggled throughout the season and despite their efforts, ended up getting relegated to the Championship. As a result, they are all set to lose out on some of their best players.

Adams surely did his bit but couldn’t help Leeds survive in the English top flight. He got injured in the final phase of the season and that didn’t help the cause of his club. But, his performances have attracted a lot of attention and with a relation clause in his deal, a move elsewhere is very much possible. The Blues want to land him at the club and they are ready to intensify their efforts this week.
