Erik ten Hag is reportedly pushing Manchester United to sign French midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni from Real Madrid this summer.

According to a report by SPORT, as relayed by Sport Witness, Aurelien Tchouameni is the subject of interest from Manchester United. Erik ten Hag wants the Red Devils to sign the Real Madrid midfielder. And the French international is also a target for Bayern Munich in the ongoing transfer window.

Aurelien Tchouameni rose to prominence during his stints with Bordeaux and AS Monaco. And his stock soared considerably following an impressive 2021/22 campaign with the principality club. Several high-profile clubs subsequently considered signing the 23-year-old before Real Madrid secured his services in a deal worth €80 million last summer.

The French international was a regular for his club and country last season, particularly at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. But Tchouameni’s stock fell somewhat towards the end of the 2022/23 season when he was a rotation option. Nonetheless, he has turned out 50 times thus far for Real Madrid, chipping in with four assists.

Meanwhile, the Frenchman remains highly rated in the market, with several high-profile clubs keen on signing him. And with Real Madrid landing Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler this summer, prospective suitors are smelling blood. He has already emerged as a target for Bayern Munich. And Manchester United might also look to secure Tchouameni’s services this summer.

The Red Devils have been active in the market this summer, signing Mason Mount and Andre Onana thus far. In addition, Rasmus Hojlund is on the verge of completing a big-money move to Old Trafford. But Manchester United might not be done yet, with Erik ten Hag keen on signing a midfielder. Sofyan Amrabat is thus a top target for Manchester United.

Recent reports have claimed that the Moroccan international is prioritising joining Manchester United. But Tchouameni has now emerged as a target for the Red Devils. The French international can be a long-term solution for Manchester United. And with Casemiro on the wrong side of 30, the Premier League heavyweights can be ahead of the curve to sign his successor.

But widespread reports have claimed that Tchouameni does not want to leave Real Madrid this summer. And with Manchester United reportedly closing in on signing Amrabat, they might not make a move for the Real Madrid midfielder.
