Aurelien Tchouameni has no interest in leaving Real Madrid in the ongoing transfer window amid interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.

According to a report by Spanish outlet MARCA, Aurelien Tchouameni has poured cold water on speculation linking him with a move away from Real Madrid. The French international does not want to leave Los Blancos in the ongoing transfer window. And he was a target for Premier League bigwigs like Arsenal and Liverpool.

Aurelien Tchouameni was a highly-coveted midfielder when he joined Real Madrid from AS Monaco last summer. Several high-profile clubs were keen on signing the 23-year-old before Los Blancos won the race. And they shelled out a whopping €80 million to beat the competition to his signature.

The French international immediately became a regular for Real Madrid. But Tchouameni’s stock fell somewhat in the final weeks of the 2022/23 season. Nonetheless, he has turned out 50 times for Real Madrid while chipping in with four assists. But the player’s situation at the Santiago Bernabeu has captured the attention of Arsenal and Liverpool.

Recent reports have also pointed to Arsenal submitting a bid to secure Tchouameni’s services. The Gunners are on the verge of signing Declan Rice from West Ham United. But with multiple midfielders facing an uncertain future a the Emirates, Arsenal can do with another midfield signing.

As for Liverpool, the Reds were keen on signing the Frenchman last summer before he joined Real Madrid. But the Merseyside club’s interest in the player has not waned. And amid a midfield overhaul at Anfield, the 23-year-old can be a long-term replacement for Fabinho, whose levels have dropped.

However, Arsenal and Liverpool face defeat in the chase for Tchouameni’s signature. That is because the young midfielder does not want to leave Real Madrid anytime soon. He reckons he is yet to showcase his best performances for Los Blancos, thus ending the hopes of his prospective suitors.

Arsenal and Liverpool would have likely submitted offers over €80 million to secure Tchouameni’s services. But with the French international keen on staying put, a summer move is off the cards. It will be interesting to see who they target next after Tchouameni’s snub.
