Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, but a summer move seems unlikely.

According to Philipp Kessler and Manuel Bonke of TZ, as relayed by @iMiaSanMia on Twitter, Aurelien Tchouameni is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich. But the Bundesliga champions are yet to contact Real Madrid or the Frenchman over a possible deal. And a summer move will unlikely see the light of day.

Aurelien Tchouameni began his professional career in his homeland, rising to prominence during his stints with Bordeaux and AS Monaco. And after seeing his stock soar at Stade Louis II, he joined Real Madrid. Los Blancos shelled out €80 million to sign the 23-year-old, who has been a regular for them.

The French international has turned out 50 times thus far for Real Madrid, chipping in with four assists. But Tchouameni’s stature reduced in the final weeks as he became a rotation option for Carlo Ancelotti. And with Real Madrid signing Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler this summer, his prospects might suffer.

Recent reports have linked the Frenchman with several high-profile clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea. And Philipp Kessler and Manuel Bonke of TZ have claimed that Tchouameni’s name also features on Bayern Munich’s radar. That said, a move in the summer transfer window seems unlikely.

The Bundesliga champions have yet to establish contact with Real Madrid or Tchouameni’s entourage. In addition, Real Madrid’s potentially high asking price will rule Bayern Munich out of the reckoning. Nonetheless, amid uncertainties surrounding the futures of Leon Goretzka and Marcel Sabitzer, the French midfielder is a viable target.

But securing Tchouameni’s services is beyond Bayern Munich’s means. Real Madrid would likely have demanded more than €80 million to part ways with the player. Meanwhile, recent reports have suggested that the 24-year-old does not want to leave Real Madrid anytime soon.

So Tchouameni’s future is seemingly at Real Madrid, at least for the 2023/24 season. And it will be interesting to see if he can beat the competition for the spots to become an undisputed first-choice midfielder for Carlo Ancelotti in the upcoming campaign.
