West Ham United have been offered the chance to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi, with Chelsea desperate to find a buyer for the 22-year-old winger.

According to West Ham Football on Twitter, West Ham United have been offered the chance to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi. The 22-year-old Chelsea wide man remains for sale in the market, with reports also linking the winger with a move to Lazio in the last few days.

Callum Hudson-Odoi’s career has dovetailed in the last few years after a period of promise. There was a time when Chelsea rejected massive bids from Bayern Munich and pulled every string to ensure the 22-year-old stayed at Stamford Bridge.

A new contract followed with a tremendous pay package for a teenager, and yet, Hudson-Odoi slipped into the doom of irrelevance. Last season’s loan move to Bayer Leverkusen did not make a great difference, as the winger returned to Chelsea for pre-season with a year left on his deal.

There is no chance of a career revival at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea are desperate to sell the winger and make a decent sum off his sale. Lazio had been keen and in advanced talks with Chelsea for Hudson-Odoi. But the move has not moved forward in the last few days.

Hudson-Odoi might feel the need to remain in England and resurrect his career in the Premier League. Fulham remains one of the key clubs in the chase for the 22-year-old. But Chelsea reportedly rejected an offer from the Cottagers.

Whether they return remains the question, but others in the queue could make bids in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the report insists West Ham were offered the chance to sign Hudson-Odoi, although there are no indications from the Hammers regarding their interest.

West Ham are close to signing Manchester City prospect Carlos Borges, who also occupies the left-wing berth. Hudson-Odoi could still become a solid option for David Moyes. But his performances in recent seasons do not bring optimism.

West Ham are focused on bringing midfielders to the club, with James Ward-Prowse and Conor Gallagher as their primary targets. Chelsea have already rejected a bid from the Hammers for the latter, and Moyes’s side could cool their interest after the midfielder indicated he was willing to stay at the club.

As for Hudson-Odoi, he could still move to Lazio as they are very keen. Fulham are also pencilled in to make headway in their chase, in which case, the winger could decide on giving the Premier League another try and revive his career in England.
