Chelsea have rejected Fulham’s initial offer for the services of 22-year-old England international Callum Hudson-Odoi.

According to Daily Mail, Fulham are keen on having Callum Hudson-Odoi in their ranks ahead of next season. The Cottagers recently submitted an official offer to acquire the 22-year-old’s services, but Chelsea have rejected their first bid.

Hudson-Odoi has been a part of Chelsea since his childhood days. He has come up the ranks at the club and even managed to break into their first team. However, things have not been that great of late. His game time has reduced over the past two seasons.

The England international was on loan at Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen last season in search of regular game time. But, things didn’t work out for him in Germany. The 22-year-old struggled throughout the season. He featured in a total of 21 matches but was on the pitch for just over 1,000 minutes, and all he could do was contribute towards two goals.

After a disappointing loan spell, he has returned to Chelsea. However, his future does not look bright at the London club. Their new manager Mauricio Pochettino cannot guarantee the 22-year-old enough game time for next season.

The Blues have signed multiple forwards over the past few windows, and their youth product is likely to be way down in the pecking order. As a result, he is ready to leave the club in the ongoing summer. With his contract running out in 12 months, Chelsea are expected to offload him in the summer rather than lose out on him for free next year. But they will only let him leave for the right price.

Meanwhile, Fulham are keen on having the 22-year-old in their ranks. The Cottagers want to bolster his attack ahead of the 2023/24 season and believe Hudson-Odoi could do wonders for them. While he was disappointing throughout last season, the Cottagers are confident in his abilities and they believe he can turn things around.

Marco Silva’s team have been in talks with the Blues of late over a potential transfer. They even submitted an offer. But it has been rejected by Chelsea. So far the Cottagers are the only club to have made a move, and it will be interesting to see if they try their luck once again in the near future after getting rejected at this first instance.
