22-year-old Ajax sensation Mohammed Kudus is open to the idea of joining Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal ahead of next season.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Arsenal are interested in acquiring the services of Mohammed Kudus, and even the player is keen on joining the Gunners. The 22-year-old has been doing wonders of late, and he is on the radar of quite a few clubs from across Europe.

Kudus joined Ajax in the summer of 2020 after impressive performances for Nordsjaelland. He has gone from strength to strength since making the move to the Dutch club. He has featured in a total of 84 matches and has 34 goal contributions to his name.

Out of his total 34 goal contributions, 25 came last season. The Ghana international was involved in 42 matches and was on the pitch for almost 2,700 minutes. He managed to find the back of the net on 18 occasions and also bagged seven assists.

While his contract with the Dutch club runs until the summer of 2025, there is a real possibility of parting ways with the club in the ongoing window. The most likely destination at this point in time seems to be Arsenal.

While the Gunners have already spent a fortune on acquiring talented players, they could still push for the 22-year-old. Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer of the Ghana international and would love to have him in his ranks.

According to the report, Kudus could be a perfect fit for the Gunners. He is a versatile player who can feature as a striker, an attacking midfielder as well as a winger. His versatility will give Arteta multiple options to work with, and he falls within the specific age range that they are targeting to recruit players.

Even Kudus is ready to join the Gunners. He likes the project under Arteta and would love to make the move to London. Meanwhile, Arsenal have an excellent relationship with Ajax, which was pretty clear with the Jurrien Timber deal and this relationship might help their cause. However, the Gunners won’t be pushing for him at this point in time. They will first look to offload a few of their players and then make a move for the 22-year-old later in the window.
