Serie A giants Juventus are interested in re-signing 25-year-old Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Cristian Romero.

According to Maximiliano Grillo via TNT Sports, Juventus are keen on having Cristian Romero in their ranks ahead of next season. The 25-year-old defender has made quite a name for himself with impressive performances for both club and country. And the Serie A giants have contacted Tottenham for the World Cup winner.

Cristian Romero’s consistent performances have resulted in a lot of interest in his services. Romero joined Juventus back in the summer of 2019. Post that, he was sent out on multiple loan moves before being eventually sold to Atalanta in the summer of 2021.

In the same summer, Tottenham signed him on a season-long loan from Atalanta. On the back of impressive performances, Spurs decided to make the move permanent next summer itself for €50 million. Over the past few seasons, the 25-year-old has been on fire for his national team.

He has been a rock in the defence and has guided them to three titles: Copa America 2021, Finalissima 2022 and Qatar World Cup 2022. While Tottenham did not have the best of seasons, the 25-year-old surely did his bit in his 34 appearances. His impressive performances over the past few seasons have attracted attention.

At this point in time, Juventus are pondering over a potential move for the Argentine international. A lot has been going on in the background at the Serie A club but they are keen on making sure things get better on the pitch. They missed out on Champions League qualification for next season due to a 10-point deduction handed to them by the Italian federation because of false accounting.

Juventus are keen on bouncing back by making the necessary signings in the summer. Meanwhile, recent reports have linked Gleison Bremer with a possible summer departure. And Tottenham are reportedly keen on signing the Brazilian defender.

The Old Lady are keen on bolstering their defence and have their eyes on Romero. The 25-year-old has all the qualities to succeed at Juventus. But it won’t be easy to prise him away from Tottenham. Nonetheless, the Serie A giants have made the opening move by contacting Tottenham for the World Cup winner.
