Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has been linked with a move to AC Milan this summer, with the two clubs negotiating a deal.

According to Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan are currently negotiating a permanent transfer for beleaguered Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic. The Serie A giants are hoping to sign the USMNT international for a fee of around €25 million. But the two clubs are yet to reach an agreement.

Pulisic is reportedly keen on moving to AC Milan. The 24-year-old American international has struggled for regular game time at Stamford Bridge, and he started just eight matches in the Premier League last season. Pulisic needs to play regularly at this stage of his career. So a move away from Chelsea would be ideal for him.

The talented winger is highly-rated around Europe, and he has a big future ahead of him. He is still only 24, and he has plenty of time to complete his development and fulfil his potential. The USMNT international was regarded as a world-class talent during his time at Borussia Dortmund, and he has shown flashes of his tremendous quality at Chelsea since his €64 million arrival.

Pulisic will look to get his career back on track with a move to Italy, and AC Milan can provide him with the platform to showcase his qualities on a regular basis. The Serie A giants need to add more quality to their attack and policies would be a superb, long-term investment.

Signing a player of his ability for €25 million could prove to be a masterstroke. The player has previously been valued at €30-35 million. Chelsea have already signed a number of players to improve their attacking options in recent windows, and Pulisic is unlikely to get regular game time at Stamford Bridge next season either.

It makes sense for both parties to go separate ways this summer. Furthermore, Chelsea will need to recoup some money through sales after spending substantial sums on new signings in the last two transfer windows. They will need to stay in touch with the Financial Fair Play regulations and therefore they will have to balance the books with sales.

As for AC Milan, they will have a substantial amount of money to spend this summer after the departure of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United. It remains to be seen whether they can get the deal across the line.
