Real Madrid might look to sign 21-year-old Ecuadorian centre-back Piero Hincapie from Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
According to a report by Italian Calciomercatoweb, Piero Hincapie is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The 21-year-old might leave Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window. And a move to the Santiago Bernabeu might be on the cards for the young centre-back.
Piero Hincapie spent his formative years in his homeland before graduating from the youth division at Independiente. And after a short stint with CA Talleres, the Ecuadorian international joined Bayer Leverkusen in August 2021. Since then, he has come leaps and bounds, establishing himself as one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga.
The 21-year-old has turned out 76 times for Bayer Leverkusen, chipping in with three goals and two assists. In addition, Hincapie was impressive at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, even though Ecuador bowed out at the group stage. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with Real Madrid among his prospective suitors.
Real Madrid might enter the market for a centre-back in the summer transfer window. While they will not prioritise signing a central defender, they might need to enter the market for one amid uncertainties surrounding Ferland Mendy.
