Liverpool and Tottenham have reportedly probed Sofyan Amrabat, a target for Barcelona, over a possible move this summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Liverpool and Tottenham are interested in signing Sofyan Amrabat. The two Premier League clubs have contacted the Fiorentina midfielder, a target for Barcelona. And the Serie A giants want to recoup €30 million to part ways with the Moroccan midfielder.

Sofyan Amrabat has gone from a largely unheralded Serie A midfielder to one of the most highly sought-after players in the market. That is not to say the 26-year-old did not get the job done in the middle of the park. But it took a phenomenal FIFA World Cup 2022 campaign for his stock to skyrocket.

The Moroccan international was instrumental as the Atlas Lions became the first African team to reach the World Cup semi-finals. Meanwhile, Amrabat has turned out over 100 times for Fiorentina, chipping in with one goal and one assist. And the player’s progress has captured the attention of Barcelona, Liverpool, and Tottenham.

Barcelona wanted to sign Amrabat in the summer transfer window. But they could not afford Fiorentina’s asking price, while La Viola did not want to sell him either. However, Barcelona’s interest in the Moroccan international has not waned. And he is their priority target heading into the summer transfer window.

But Amrabat’s asking price of €30 million has left Barcelona in a spot of bother. In addition, the Catalan giants face stiff competition from Liverpool and Tottenham, among others. And the two Premier League clubs have contacted the 26-year-old over a possible move this summer. Meanwhile, neither Liverpool nor Tottenham should have any qualms about paying €30 million to sign him.

Tottenham will try to steal a march on the competition to land the Fiorentina midfielder. And with Ange Postecoglou keen on stamping his authority, Amrabat is a viable target. As for Liverpool, the Reds are in the market for multiple midfielders. And after signing Alexis Mac Allister, the Reds have set their sights on other targets.

Apart from Barcelona, Liverpool, and Tottenham, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich are also keen on signing the 26-year-old. And with the race to sign Amrabat heating up, Fiorentina can hope to recoup €30 million from his sale.
