Real Madrid will not shell out over €50 million to secure the services of Chelsea attacker Kai Havertz this summer.
According to a report by German outlet Sport1, Chelsea will demand €60 million to part ways with Kai Havertz. The German international is a target for Real Madrid. But the Merengues are not ready to fork out anything over €50 million to sign him in the summer transfer window.
Kai Havertz has not done much to justify the hype surrounding him when he joined Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen in September 2020. The 23-year-old was one of the best young attackers in the world when he arrived at Stamford Bridge. But he has been an underwhelming signing for Chelsea.
No player has found the back of the net more than the German international during his stint with Chelsea. But a tally of nine goals and one assist in 47 appearances across all competitions this season is dreadful. However, that has not deterred prospective suitors, with Real Madrid among the clubs keen on signing him.
The Merengues have lost four players from the offensive unit at the end of the 2022/23 season. Karim Benzema has already joined Al-Ittihad, while Marco Asensio is on the verge of moving to Paris Saint-Germain. Meanwhile, Eden Hazard and Mariano Diaz are yet to zero in on their next destinations.
Nonetheless, with four attackers departing, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes are the only recognised options in the offensive unit. So it behoves Real Madrid to make multiple attacking reinforcements this summer. And Kai Havertz has emerged as a viable target for Los Blancos.
But the Merengues are not ready to meet Chelsea’s asking price for the 23-year-old. While the Blues want €60 million to part ways with the German international, Real Madrid will not pay more than €50 million. While Havertz’s ability to play across the frontline makes him a utility man, the Spanish giants do not value him at over €50 million.

So something will have to give for Chelsea and Real Madrid to seal the deal for the German international. It will be interesting to see if Real Madrid can secure Havertz’s services for less than €50 million or if the Blues stick to their guns.
