Manchester United and Mason Mount, a target for Liverpool, have reportedly sealed an agreement over £200,000-a-week wages.
According to a report by Football Insider, Mason Mount is ready to sign a £200,000-a-week deal with Manchester United. The two parties have sealed the agreement over personal terms. In addition, with UEFA Champions League football on offer, the Chelsea playmaker has chosen the Red Devils over Liverpool.
Mason Mount has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League since breaking into the Chelsea first team. Frank Lampard brought the best out of the Englishman in 2019/20, and he has come leaps and bounds since then. But he has endured a frustrating 2022/23 season.
Fitness issues and poor form plagued Mount in the ongoing campaign, with his performance levels plummetting. And the 24-year-old managed only three goals and six assists in 35 outings this term. Meanwhile, Mount’s Chelsea future is uncertain as he will enter the final year of his deal next month. And such a situation has alerted Liverpool and Manchester United.
Liverpool pushed to sign Mount for several weeks as they look to reinforce the midfield unit. But the Reds have turned their attention towards other midfielders. Alexis Mac Allister, Khephren Thuram, and Manu Kone are now the top targets for Liverpool. But the Chelsea playmaker remains on Liverpool’s radar.
Recent reports have also claimed that the 24-year-old is likelier to join Liverpool instead of renewing terms with Chelsea. But the Reds have fallen behind Manchester United in the race to secure Mount’s services. And personal terms will not be an issue for the Red Devils while pursuing the English international.

And the English outlet has suggested that Mount will sign a £200,000-a-week contract if he joins Manchester United. But convincing Chelsea to agree to a deal at an acceptable price will be a challenge for Manchester United.
