Arsenal are ready to move for Elye Wahi as Mikel Arteta looks to reinforce the attack with a promising young player.

According to Fichajes, Arsenal are vying for Elye Wahi ahead of the summer transfer window as they ready a bid. The Gunners want to move into pole position for the €30-35 million-rated French attacker, who has been a shining light in Ligue 1 this season with Montpellier.

Arsenal have many ideas ahead of the summer transfer window as Mikel Arteta looks to reinforce his squad in many areas. The team that finished second in the Premier League will not likely make wholesale changes in the summer, but key areas need strengthening.

Arteta remains intent on strengthening the central midfield, with Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo his primary targets. Then the priorities might shift towards the backline, with a centre-back and a right-back needed in the next window.

If there are further funds and an actual need, then Arteta could bring in a new striker as he looks to make changes in the forward department. A new right winger is also necessary in the summer. But a centre-forward could become essential if there are departures.

Gabriel Jesus has nailed down a starting spot for Arsenal, and Leandro Trossard is the new deputy in that leading role. Eddie Nketiah will likely remain at the club despite a reduced role in the previous season. However, Arteta might want a new option considering the team will embark on a Champions League journey next season.

Montpellier’s €30-35 million-rated French attacker Elye Wahi has emerged as a target for the Gunners, who might ready a bid. The Ligue 1 side are keen to keep hold of the 20-year-old, but a bid around the asking price could convince them to sell.

Wahi has had an impressive season scoring 17 times in Ligue 1 this season. He, alongside Arsenal’s own Folarin Balogun, were among the best young players in the division. The USMNT star could depart in the summer if the Gunners receive a sizeable bid, with Paris Saint-Germain interested.

If that departure concludes, then Arsenal might advance their efforts over Wahi. The €30-35 million-rated French attacker could come in as a replacement for Balogun and help maintain the quality levels in the squad. Arteta is eager for such a player and would have ideally liked the USMNT star to stay put.

Wahi also has an interest in other clubs, including Tottenham. However, the lure of Arsenal and the Champions League might tempt the forward towards Arteta’s side in the window. He could become a solid acquisition as the Gunners could develop him into a world-beater in the coming seasons.
