Barcelona recently discussed a possible summer move for 24-year-old Spanish international Martin Zubimendi during the recent La Liga game with Real Sociedad.

According to Gerard Romero on Jijantes FC, Martin Zubimendi remains a top target for Barcelona. The Catalan giants have initiated discussions with Real Sociedad over a possible move for the 24-year-old. Meanwhile, the Basque giants like three Barcelona players, and a part-exchange deal might be on the cards.

Martin Zubimendi has established himself as one of the best midfielders in La Liga since becoming a regular for Real Sociedad. The Spaniard took some time to get going but has not looked back in the last few years. And he has also broken into the Spanish national team.

The 24-year-old has turned out nearly 150 times for Real Sociedad, chipping in with four goals and six assists. Meanwhile, the player’s market value has risen to €40 million. And Zubimendi’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with several high-profile clubs, including Barcelona, setting their sights on him.

Barcelona will continue the squad overhaul under Xavi Hernandez in the summer transfer window. And their transition will stretch due to Sergio Busquets’s impending departure at the end of the season. So the Blaugrana must delve into the market for a midfielder in the coming weeks. And Zubimendi has emerged as a viable target for Barcelona.

Meanwhile, recent reports have claimed that Barcelona might offer a part-exchange arrangement to sign the player.
