Thomas Tuchel is looking to reunite with Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has had a disappointing time at Chelsea since joining the club from Barcelona, and he has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot at the London club. A report from Fichajes claims that Bayern Munich are prepared to provide him with an exit route this summer.

Aubameyang has worked under Thomas Tuchel during their time together at Borussia Dortmund and the German manager was crucial to his signing at Stamford Bridge. Tuchel helped the striker develop into a world-class goalscorer during their time together at Borussia Dortmund, and he could help the Chelsea misfit regain top form once again.

Bayern need to add more quality and depth to their attack, and the Chelsea striker could prove to be a useful acquisition. The Blues paid £12 million to sign the player from Barcelona. But they are unlikely to be able to recoup that money, given his poor performances and stature in the squad.

The striker was recently left out of Chelsea’s Champions League squad as well. It is clear that he is unwanted at the West London club, and his suitors will want to snap him up on a bargain. These include Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Bayern signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool at the start of the season in order to fill the void left by Robert Levandowski. However, the Senegal international has not been able to live up to the expectations so far and his performances have been rather underwhelming.

Aubameyang could share the goalscoring burden with Sadio Mane if he moves to the German club at the end of the season. Chelsea will be keen to get rid of his massive wages from their books this summer. And the opportunity to offload him to Bayern Munich could prove to be hard to turn down.

It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can come to an agreement regarding his transfer in the coming weeks now. The Chelsea misfit has been linked with a return to Barcelona as well. Apparently, the Spanish giants are prepared to bring him back to the club, but they are hoping to secure his services on a free transfer.
