Burnley are interested in acquiring the services of 32-year-old Real Madrid star Eden Hazard after gaining promotion to the Premier League.

According to a report by Fichajes, Burnley are interested in signing Eden Hazard ahead of next season. The Championship side are all set to feature in the Premier League next season and would love to have the Real Madrid star in their ranks.

Burnley have done wonders in the ongoing season, as they are currently top of the EFL Championship table with 91 points out of their 41 matches. Vincent Kompany’s team have a 12-point lead over the second-placed team and have already secured promotion to the English top flight.

Kompany’s performances as Burnley’s manager have resulted in a lot of interest in his services. But, the manager is keen on continuing at the club, and he has already started planning for the future.

The 37-year-old wants his former Belgium teammate at the club. Hazard has not had the best of times since moving to Real Madrid but Kompany believes he could still offer a lot to his team. And, a return to the Premier League could help him revive his playing career.

The 32-year-old winger joined Los Blancos in the summer of 2019 on the back of impressive performances for Chelsea in the Premier League. It was a big money move that saw him move to the Spanish capital. However, things have not gone according to plan for the former Chelsea star.

Injuries have caused a lot of trouble to the Belgian international. While he has shown glimpses of the talent he possesses, the 32-year-old has never really reached the heights that he did with Chelsea.

Since joining Real Madrid Hazard has featured in just 79 matches and has a total of 19 goal contributions. The 32-year-old has been on the decline in the last few seasons. And, he is no longer an important first-team player. He has fallen way down in the pecking order under Carlo Ancelotti and Madrid will have no problems negotiating an exit.

The former Chelsea winger has featured in just nine matches in the ongoing season and has been on the pitch for just over 300 minutes. Meanwhile, Burnley are still interested in his services. His former teammate Kompany believes the 32-year-old’s return to the Premier League could help him revive his career. And, at the same time, it could help the cause of his team who will be featuring in the English top flight next season after having gained promotion recently.
