Manchester United could plot a part-exchange with Juventus for Denis Zakaria, currently on loan at Chelsea, in the summer.

According to Calciomercatoweb, Manchester United are plotting a part-exchange move for Denis Zakaria. The Red Devils are willing to send Victor Lindelof the other way, plus the valuation difference in cash for the midfielder, currently on loan with Chelsea.

Denis Zakaria was considered a coup for Juventus when they signed the Swiss midfielder from Borussia Monchengladbach in January 2022. He did take his time to adapt to new surroundings and could have become an important player for the Bianconeri.

However, the summer arrival of Paul Pogba made Juventus consider the future of the Swiss star. As they took time to decide, Chelsea offered to take him on loan, and Juventus agreed to the deal, adding a buy option.

While he has not set the world alight at Stamford Bridge, he has certainly impressed in bits during his time here. He has been sidelined for large parts due to injuries and steadily moved to become out of favour under two different managers this season.

Hence, Chelsea are unlikely to sign him permanently and take up the €33 million buy option. Juventus could thus see the midfielder return and make another decision on his future in the summer. Manchester United are reportedly interested as Erik ten Hag searches for a new midfield option.

Considering Zakaria has already adapted to Premier League football, his talents could be nurtured with the right surroundings. Chelsea have had a difficult season, which has stalled the development of many stars in their squad.

With Juventus open to discussions for Zakaria, Manchester United could reportedly propose a part-exchange deal. The Red Devils are ready to sell Victor Lindelof in the summer after the defender became surplus to departure.

Ideally, they would have wanted a straight swap with Juventus for Zakaria. But the Turin giants feel there is a gap between the valuations of the players. Hence, Manchester United could reportedly offer the difference in cash for the midfielder, with Lindelof going the other way.

Lindelof has plenty of options from Italy, including Inter Milan, who remain interested. Juventus might show their need for a new defender, and prise the Swede away, who might also consider staying and seeing out his contract at Manchester United.
