Victor Lindelof has been linked with a summer move away from Manchester United, with Serie A giants Inter Milan keen.

A report from 90min claims that Serie A giants Inter Milan are keen on signing Swedish defender Victor Lindelof, who Manchester United signed for €45 million.

Lindelof has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford and needs to leave the club to play every week. A move to Inter Milan could be ideal for the player next season. The Serie A giants are set to lose players like Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij when their contracts expire in the summer.

They will need to bring in adequate replacements and Lindelof would be a superb acquisition for them. Meawhile, Manchester United have signed Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane in the last two summer transfer window. Lindelof is now the third-choice defender at the club. And the 28-year-old needs to play regularly at this stage of his career.

Staying at Manchester United is not ideal for a player of his quality especially if he is not getting regular game time. It remains to be seen whether Inter Milan can agree on a fee with Manchester United in the coming months. Recent reports have claimed that Manchester United are ready to cash in on their €45 million signing.

Inter Milan are reportedly going through financial difficulties and might not be able to afford the player if the Red Devils are unreasonable with their demands. Meanwhile, Harry Maguire has been linked with a move away from Manchester United as well.

The former Leicester City defender has dropped down the pecking order and is currently the fourth-choice defender at the club. The Red Devils will be looking to strengthen their squad sufficiently during the summer transfer window. And they should look to cash in on the fringe players.

The likes of Lindelof could fetch substantial transfer fees for them, and moving to Inter Milan would be ideal for all parties. Lindelof was a key player for Benfica prior to the move to Manchester United, and he certainly has the quality to thrive in Italian football as well.

He could develop into a key player for Inter Milan in the coming seasons. Furthermore, the defender is at the peak of his career and is likely to make an immediate impact at San Siro.
