Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking to sign Evan Ferguson, a target for Chelsea and Manchester United, at the end of the season.

Even Ferguson has been quite impressive for Brighton & Hove Albion this season. And it seems that his performances have impressed Tottenham. A report from Football Insider claims that the north London club will face competition from Manchester United and Chelsea as well.

The 18-year-old has the potential to develop into a top-class player, and he could be the ideal partner for Harry Kane next season. The youngster is more than a goalscorer,, and his ability to link up with his teammates could prove to be useful for Tottenham.

The north London club have been overly reliant on Kane. And Ferguson could share the goalscoring burden with him. Meanwhile, Manchester United need to bring in someone who can lead the line for them next season.

Marcus Rashford has done a splendid job leading the line for the club this year. But he is more suited to a wide role. Signing Ferguson would allow Rashford to play in his natural position. The 18-year-old has the potential to succeed at a big club and he could sort out Manchester United’s attack for the foreseeable future. So the interest makes sense.

On the other hand, Chelsea are still lacking a player who can find the back of the net consistently. Summer signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been largely underwhelming and is expected to leave the club soon. Youngster Armando Broja is sidelined with a long-term injury, and Graham Potter is under pressure to bring in a prolific scorer.

The opportunity to reunite with Ferguson at Stamford Bridge could be a tempting proposition for the former Brighton manager. Meanwhile, the 18-year-old striker could be tempted to work with his former manager as well.

Chelsea certainly have the finances to pay the big bucks for the Brighton striker. And it will be interesting to see which of the three clubs manage to secure his signature eventually. A move to Tottenham, Chelsea or Manchester United would be a major step up in Ferguson’s career and he could be attracted to the idea of playing for a big club next season.
