Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing 19-year-old German international Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Florian Wirtz is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich. La Liga heavyweights Barcelona and Real Madrid are also keen on signing the 19-year-old. But Bayer Leverkusen will fight tooth and nail to keep hold of the teenage sensation beyond the summer transfer window.

Florian Wirtz has established himself as one of the best young players in the Bundesliga since joining Bayer Leverkusen. The German international arrived at the BayArena as a long-term successor to Kai Havertz. And he has filled the Chelsea attacker’s void admirably. The youngster has also overcome a gruesome long-term knee injury by returning to action emphatically.

The 19-year-old has one goal and three assists in seven appearances thus far this season. And Wirtz will also be focused on reclaiming his spot in the German national squad in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the teenager’s progress has captured the attention of Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich.

The three European heavyweights have been interested in the 19-year-old German international for a long time. And with Wirtz regaining fitness and gradually becoming a pivotal figure again for Bayer Leverkusen, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich might sense the opportunity to launch the offensive.

Barcelona might have the best chance of signing Wirtz, considering he has repeatedly admitted to dreaming about joining them. But the teenage sensation will likely command an astronomical price tag. And with Barcelona’s financial woes not ending, a summer move might be a farfetched dream.

As for Bayern Munich, with Thomas Muller approaching the end of his glittering career, they need a successor. And Wirtz can be the ideal candidate to replace his compatriot in the coming years. Meanwhile, Real Madrid might view the 19-year-old as a player who can fill the impending void of Luka Modric.

While Wirtz primarily reprises the no. 10 role, he can play as a no. 8, making him an appealing prospect. But it will be interesting to see if Bayer Leverkusen will fight hard to keep hold of the German international beyond the summer transfer window.
