Manchester City trio future in doubt because of Premier League sanctions

Erling Haaland, Bernardo Silva and Julian Alvarez’s future is in doubt amidst Premier League charges on Manchester City.

According to a report by Fichajes.net, the future of the Manchester City trio is in doubt because of the recent Premier League charges on the club. Irregularities in their financial statements have put Manchester City in deep trouble.

The Manchester-based club have been charged by the Premier League for alleged breaches of Financial Fair Play rules. They have been charged with 100 breaches between 2009 and 2018. However, an independent commission will now look into the matter and give the final verdict.

If these allegations turn out to be true, City will have to face serious consequences. They might get a sizeable points deduction or might even be relegated. It can result in them missing out on Champions League football in the next season.

Their absence from Europe’s biggest tournament can cause a lot of transfer headaches for Pep Guardiola’s team. Cityzens might have to lose out on some big stars. According to the reports, Erling Haaland, Bernardo Silva, and Julian Alvarez might push for a move away from the club if they end up being penalized.

Haaland joined Manchester City back in the summer of 2022. Ever since joining them, he has taken the Premier League by storm scoring 25 goals in just 20 matches. The 22-year-old striker is in red-hot form and European giants Barcelona and Real Madrid have their eyes on him.

Bernardo Silva might also consider parting ways with the club. The 29-year-old midfielder has been doing wonders on the pitch but off it, he is not finding Manchester life easy. He admires the Catalonian giants and even they would love to have him in their ranks. Meanwhile, if the sanctions are true, he might push for a move in the summer.

Manchester City brought Julian Alvarez to Europe, he joined the Manchester-based club in the summer of 2022. Pep Guardiola was the man behind the move. The City boss is a big admirer of the 23-year-old striker. He has featured in 27 matches since his arrival in England. The Argentine forward has found the back of the net on nine occasions and has assisted his teammate twice.

However, if the allegations turn out to be true and Manchester City miss out on European football, even Alvarez might want to leave the club to reach his full potential. There are a lot of clubs interested in him, but it might all depend on the independent commission’s report.
