Liverpool eyeing Ryan Gravenberch swoop

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Dutch international midfielder Ryan Gravenberch on loan from Bayern Munich.

Ryan Gravenberch joined German champions Bayern Munich at the start of the season but has failed to make his mark thus far. And his agent was reportedly at Anfield on Saturday as Liverpool look to sign him on a loan deal as per insider Indy Kaila.

The 20-year-old defensive midfielder is yet to start a single Bundesliga game for Bayern Munich, and he needs to play more regularly to continue his development and fulfill his potential. Liverpool desperately need midfield reinforcements, and the Dutchman could prove to be a quality short-term edition.

Gravenberch is an impressive passer from the deep, and his ability to pick out teammates from the long range will be an asset for the Reds. Furthermore, he will provide some much-needed defensive cover to the Liverpool centre-backs, and he can be quite effective with his long-range efforts.

Gravenberch is dominant in the air as well, and Liverpool would certainly benefit from having someone like him on their side. Players like Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have regressed massively this season, and the Reds have struggled as a result of that.

Jurgen Klopp needs to reinforce the engine room of his side in order for Liverpool to turn things around during the second half of the campaign. The 20-year-old Is likely to be tempted to join a club like Liverpool if the opportunity comes along.

The Reds signed Arthur Melo on loan from Juventus. But the Brazilian has been sidelined with a serious injury. Bringing in a quality midfielder in January is top priority for the Reds right now, and Gravenberch certainly fits the profile.

Klopp could help the young midfielder develop with regular game time at Anfield and return to Bayern Munich as a better player next season. Furthermore, if he manages to impress with his performances at the Premier League club, the Reds might just end up signing him up permanently at the end of the season.

The 20-year-old is highly rated around Europe and he has the potential to develop into a world-class player. It will be interesting to see if the German outfit are prepared to loan him out during the second half of the campaign so that he can get regular game time.

Moving to the Premier League would allow him to play at a high level and test himself against top-class opposition on a weekly basis. Meanwhile, Liverpool have shown interest in Ruben Neves, although signing the Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder is unlikely.
