Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in signing Spanish midfield sensation Nico Paz from Real Madrid.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Nico Paz is the subject of interest from Borussia Dortmund. The Bundesliga giants want to take advantage of Real Madrid’s interest in Jude Bellingham to snatch Los Blancos’ midfield sensation.

Nicolas Paz Martinez, better known as Nico Paz, is the latest bright prospect to emerge from Real Madrid’s academy. The 18-year-old started his youth career with San Juan before spending a couple of years at Deportivo Tenerife. But he has made steady progress since joining Real Madrid over six years ago.

The teenage prodigy rose through the ranks in La Fabrica before making the grade at Real Madrid Castilla twelve months ago. And Nico Paz has gone from strength to strength in the last year. In particular, the youngster has gained an admirer in Carlo Ancelotti, who wants to promote him to the Real Madrid first team next season. But Borussia Dortmund will look to stop that from happening.

Borussia Dortmund will enter the market for a midfield reinforcement in the summer transfer window. That is because Jude Bellingham will likely depart from Signal Iduna Park at the end of the season. Coincidentally, the English international is a target for Real Madrid.

And recent reports have claimed that Real Madrid will look to secure an agreement for a summer move this month. As for Dortmund, the Bundesliga giants need to replace Bellingham with another promising midfielder. And Nico Paz has emerged as a viable target for the German outfit.

Bellingham will leave a gaping hole in the Borussia Dortmund midfield unit. And the Real Madrid midfield sensation, who scored five goals in five UEFA Youth League outings this season, can potentially fill the void. But the Bundesliga giants face stiff competition for the 18-year-old.

La Liga clubs Real Valladolid and Getafe are also keen on signing Nico Paz. Interestingly, another Real Madrid prodigy, Sergio Arribas, is a target for Valladolid. And the race to sign Arribas’s Real Madrid Castilla teammate will be a sight to behold. But Ancelotti will likely fight to retain the player’s services beyond the summer.
