Real Valladolid will reportedly look to sign Spanish midfield prospect Sergio Arribas from Real Madrid this year.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Sergio Arribas is the subject of interest from Real Valladolid. The newly-promoted La Liga outfit will look to sign the Real Madrid midfield prospect in the summer transfer window. And Ronaldo will look to use his healthy relations with Florentino Perez to land the 21-year-old.

Sergio Arribas spent his formative years at Perez Galdos and CD Leganes before joining Real Madrid in 2012. The 21-year-old rose through the ranks at La Fabrica before graduating from the academy a couple of years ago. But he is yet to establish a foothold in the first-team squad at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Spanish midfield prospect made his first-team debut for Real Madrid in September 2020. And Arribas has managed nine further appearances since then, primarily coming on as a substitute. But the youngster might not remain at Real Madrid for long, with Real Valladolid keen on securing his services.

Pacheta lacks quality in the midfield unit at Real Valladolid, with none of his options managing to perform consistently. In addition, senior figure Roque Mesa is well into his thirties and approaching the final phase of his career. So Real Valladolid will need to invest in a midfielder in the summer transfer window.

Sergio Arribas has thus emerged as a viable target for the newly-promoted La Liga outfit. The Spanish midfield prospect has outgrown the lower tiers of Spanish football and deserves to play in La Liga. But with Real Madrid unlikely to hand him regular game time, a summer departure might be on the cards.

Real Valladolid will prefer to sign Arribas in the January transfer window, but that seems unlikely. So a summer deal is the next best option for the Albivioletas. And Ronaldo will look to make use of his healthy relations with Florentino Perez to sign the Real Madrid prospect.

Valladolid might not be the only La Liga club interested in Arribas, with Real Sociedad also showing interest in him. It will be interesting to see where the Real Madrid prospect ends up if he leaves the club in the summer.
