Real Sociedad will reportedly look to sign Spanish midfield prospect Sergio Arribas from La Liga rival Real Madrid in 2023.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Sergio Arribas is the subject of interest from Real Sociedad. The Basque giants want to sign the Spanish midfield prospect from La Liga rival Real Madrid in the 2023 summer transfer window.

Sergio Arribas spent his formative years at various Spanish clubs before graduating from the Real Madrid academy a couple of years ago. The 21-year-old joined Real Madrid from Leganes over a decade ago before making swift progress in La Fabrica. But Arribas is yet to establish a foothold in the first-team squad at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Spanish midfield prospect made his first-team debut for Real Madrid in September 2020. And the youngster has made nine further outings since then, primarily coming on as an emergency option. But Arribas might not remain at Real Madrid for long, with Real Sociedad keen on securing his services.

Real Sociedad will likely enter the market for a midfield reinforcement in the 2023 summer transfer window. Martin Zubimendi might remain at the Reale Arena for at least another season despite courting interest from several European bigwigs. But David Silva, although he reprises a different role, is in the twilight of his career.

So Real Sociedad might have to plan for life after Silva in the summer transfer window. Arribas, although primarily a box-to-box midfielder, can reprise the no. 10 role. So the Real Madrid midfield prospect has emerged as a viable target for the Basque giants, who will look to raid their La Liga rival for the 21-year-old.

But Real Madrid will unlikely let Arribas leave on the cheap as he has nearly three years left on his contract. However, the move might see the light of day if the Spanish midfielder pushes to embark on a new challenge.

It will be interesting to see how Real Madrid will respond if they receive an offer from Real Sociedad. For now, Sergio Arribas has emerged as an option worth considering for La Real, who might raid their La Liga rival for the youngster.
