Chelsea have enquired about Dusan Vlahovic’s availability ahead of January as the Blues continue their search for a first-choice striker.

According to Give Me Sport via Ben Jacobs, Chelsea have made definitive inquiries about Dusan Vlahovic’s availability ahead of the January window. The Blues are still looking for a first-choice striker following Armando Broja’s long-term injury.

Chelsea were rocked by the news of Armando Broja needing surgery for his ACL injury and missing the remainder of the season. While the young striker was not a first-choice starter under Graham Potter, he provided ample cover for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Kai Havertz.

With the duo not performing at their best levels yet, Chelsea needs to bring in a new striker who could slot into the first team effortlessly. Initially, when they agreed on a deal for David Fofana from Molde, he was considered a replacement for Broja, but that may not be the case.

Ben Jacobs now reports that Chelsea have made inquiries about the availability of Dusan Vlahovic. The 22-year-old attacker only arrived at Juventus last January as there’s speculation he might depart the Turin giants next month. The news surrounding the frontman also points to his club’s ongoing financial struggles, which could prompt them to conduct a big sale.

Vlahovic is reportedly valued at £80 million, slightly more than what Juventus paid him last January. The 22-year-old attacker is also courted by the likes of Arsenal, who could also enter the market searching for a new striker following the injury of Gabriel Jesus.

There’s also Manchester United in the hunt for Vlahovic, as Erik ten Hag seeks a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who departed the club in November. The report insists the Serbian’s agent has yet to definitively rule out a move away from Turin for his client, which again opens the doors to the Premier League.

Vlahovic was chased by Arsenal last January before he joined Juventus. While his performances for the Turin giants have been acceptable on many levels, he could be tempted by the ongoing project at Chelsea put together by Todd Boehly.

While Vlahovic seems like an important target for Chelsea, the question will revolve around his availability in January. He might become an option in the summer, as Juventus will remain cautious about selling their first-choice forward midway through the season.
